The Senior DB2 DBA will work in our Data Services group and must be able to perform the following functions |

Manage database design, creation and configuration, space management and other database maintenance procedures in production and development |
| » |
Mainframe DB2 and DB2 Connect. |
| » |
Ensure the availability, stability, performance, backup, and recoverability of DB2 databases - Design and manage backup and recovery procedures including support for REXX procedures used in this function. |
| » |
Advanced database performance and application tuning. |
| » |
Assist Systems Programming in the planning and implementation of DB2 DBMS upgrades and patches. |
| » |
Plan and implement all patches and upgrades for DB2 Connect. |
| » |
Investigate DB2 & DB2 Connect problems and facilitate root cause analysis on problems where appropriate, and identify action items/recommendations to address issues. |
| » |
Maintain documentation and coding standards, lessons learned, best practices, and quality improvement documentation. |
| » |
Works closely with the development staff on all issues related to the DB2 & DB2 Connect environments. |
| » |
Responsible for 24*7 production support on a rotation basis for all DB2 Connect & DB2 databases. |
| » |
Experience with UDB databases is a plus |
